Today we present the Gardena SILENO robot lawnmower, let's open the box together and find out more about this small garden drone and its accessories. Watch the video with the first operation of SILENO.

The r. has finally arrived at our store in Nizza MonferratoGardena automatic grass cutting obot and, with the excuse of displaying it, we opened the box and set up a demonstration area to make it known to everyone. Let's open the box and find out more about this robotic lawnmower.

The car

The SILENO Gardena robot lawnmower It presents itself in its box as a machine with a simple but modern design, a two-tone resin body, which hides the engines; the rear wheels are driven by two electric motors, powered by a lithium battery, the two pivoting front wheels allow an easy change of direction.

The change in direction of SILENO robot lawnmower, occurs due to the opposite action of the two wheels, made to rotate in opposite directions, which significantly reduces the crushing action on the grass.

The cutting apparatus.

The action of robot lawnmower on the lawn, it is not that of cutting the grass when it is too long, but consists of maintain the height of the lawn desired, through continuous cutting work. The cutting apparatus of the robot consists of 3 pivoting blades moved by an electric motor, therefore ecological and silent.

How the robot mower works.

In order to delimit the cutting area, and to mark possible obstacles or dangers to the robot, during installation a perimeter cable is laid, powered by the robot's kennel; when the robot encounters the wire it knows that it must stop within a certain distance.
 
Gardena robot lawnmowers they are equipped, in addition to the perimeter cable, with an additional cable so-called guide, powered by sit! and connected via the appropriate connectors to the perimeter cable.

When the robot finishes a cutting cycle or finds the battery almost empty, it starts looking for the guide wire; once intersected the guide cable, returns to the kennel to recharge. When he returns to the kennel, the robot does not always follow the same trajectory but he varies it in order to avoid ruining the lawn leaving the mark of his passage.

The accessories supplied with the robot.

The robot is supplied with some essential accessories for the first installation and which allow a quick and relatively simple configuration:

• 200m cable reel, to lay the perimeter and guide cable;
   
  Cable reel
• The kennel, from which the cables are powered and where the robot recharges the battery;
   
  The charging kennel
• Pegs for fixing the kennel;
   
  Kennel fixing pegs
• The 3 blades for cutting grass, with the relative fixing screws;
   
  The cutting blades
• Connectors for making joints between cables; these easy-to-use connectors contain a special gel that allows the joint to resist even underground;
• The clamps to secure the cables to the kennel;
   
  Connectors and terminals
• The feeder and power cord for the kennel;
• The templates, in centimeters and inches, to lay the cable at the correct distances from obstacles.

In-store installation

Once we opened the box, we couldn't help ourselves and created a test environment in the store, to show the robot working; we set up 4 pallets covered with synthetic grass, installed the kennel and laid the cable.

Here is the video with the SILENO robot, nicknamed by us Lassie, which wanders around in the new environment and returns to its kennel on command.
