The light bulbs LEDs allow you to have great energy savings compared to traditional light bulbs, by changing the light bulbs in your home with LED lights you can have great savings on your bill. The table shows how much it costs to keep each type of light bulb on for one year (taking into account an average of 2,000 hours on).
Which types of light bulbs do they exist on the market? Read our guide which explains the main lighting technologies on the market.
1) What are lumens?
Lumens indicate "how much light" a bulb produces, the higher they are, the more luminous power it has. A 100 Watt incandescent bulb emits 1,600 lumens.
2) I need to change a 100 Watt incandescent bulb. Which LED bulb should I buy?
You need to buy an LED bulb that emits 1,600 lumens, i.e. with a power of about 19 Watts.
3) How much do I actually save in a year by changing the lights in my house to LED lights?
It depends on which bulb you replace, the older and therefore more expensive it is, the more you save. For example, if you replace a 75 Watt incandescent bulb with an LED one, you save around €26 a year.
4) My chandelier Is the current one good for the new types of bulbs or do I need to change it?
There are LED bulbs with all the main standard sockets: E14, E27, GU10 etc. The best thing is to take the old light bulb with you when you go to buy the new one: you give the old one to the seller who has the obligation to dispose of it.

Hi I have a question, I don't know much about these things and I would like some advice. I have a ceiling lamp in my room that holds a maximum of 60 watts per bulb (there are 2) I assume it refers to the standard incandescent lamp, if I want to use it with LEDs, do I have to put it at 10 watts to stay within the limits of the 60 watts of the classic or can I also put a 13 or 15 watt LED in it to have more light? Thanks in advance!
Good morning dear customer. The 60watt limit is the absorption limit of each individual bulb from what you describe to me. It is possible to use bulbs with a maximum absorption of 60 watts, LED bulbs develop the same luminous capacity as incandescent bulbs while consuming a lower amount of current. Therefore it can use led bulbs with effective consumption of 60 watts maximum. The 13-15 watt bulbs it described to me are more than supported.
